Male Breast Reduction- Overview
During a male breast reduction, Dr. Rifai makes a small, inconspicuous incision that is hidden either on the edge of areola or in the underarm. The excess glandular tissue is removed and liposuction can be used to provide more contour and definition. This procedure typically takes 1-2 hours.
Male Breast Reduction- Recovery
After the breast reduction procedure, you may experience some discomfort, which is easily controlled with medication. You will be provided with a pressure garment to help control swelling and bruising. This should be worn for approximately 3 weeks. Any swelling will likely reduce within a few weeks following the procedure. You can resume heavy lifting and strenuous activities after 6 weeks.
