Recovery Time: Pubic Lift

After your pubic lift, you can expect moderate discomfort and swelling. That can be controlled with medication and should go away in 7-10 days. There will also be swelling in your pubic region that normally lasts 4-6 weeks, but can persist for as long as 6 months.

You will experience some sort of numbness where the scar is. For many, that does go away, but the lack of sensation may be permanent for some patients.

Q: Is the procedure painful?

Answer: There is moderate discomfort and swelling. The discomfort is controlled by pain medicine and will resolve over 7-10 days. The swelling may linger for up to 6 months.

Q: Is there loss of sensation in the area?

Answer: A degree of numbness is usually present at the resulting scar and may be permanent.
