Many women decide to upgrade their aging breast implants to reduce the risk of failure, switch to a new type of implant, or select a different size of implant. Breast implant replacement gives you the freedom to choose which option is best for you.
Replacing breast implants is done through the same incision as your previous breast augmentation. Michigan breast surgeon, Dr. Rifai carefully inspects and washes the cavity prior to inserting the new breast implant. Some adjustments to the cavity may be necessary, especially if the new implants are larger or smaller than the previous implants.
Depending on the procedure, recovery can take three to ten days. Your breasts will look and feel different if the implant is changed. And if you decide to change the implant again at a future date, there shouldn’t be any problems with that at all.
