A sagging or furrowed brow can cause your appearance to look tired or even angry. Fortunately, that can be countered with a forehead lift.
Also called a browlift, a forehead lift is a fairly simple procedure where your forehead’s skin and muscles are lifted to a more ideal location. This leaves you with a more rested and youthful appearance.
Procedure Overview: Forehead Lift
1. At our outpatient surgical facility, you’ll first be put under IV sedation.
2. The skin and muscles of your forehead are then lifted to a more desirable location.
3. Muscle is sometimes removed and suspension is usually maintained by absorbable sutures and metal clips.
4. The forehead lift should take about an hour to perform.
Recovery Time: Forehead Lift
Recovery from a forehead lift is typically very short. You’ll experience bruising and swelling, but that should only last about a week or so. Some patients also get headaches, which can be easily treated with prescribed medication.
Your scalp may feel numb for a few months but that will eventually go away. Light activities can be resumed within a week after the forehead lift with strenuous exercise beginning six weeks later.
