Refine The Look Of Your Nose
Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, can be performed to address a large, disproportional nose or fix a deviated septum. Dr. Rifai’s nose surgery can reshape your nose and correct any deviation in the septum. The result is a more refined, better functioning nose that fits your face and looks natural.
Nose Surgery- Overview
This procedure takes approximately 2 ½ hours to perform. There are 2 approaches to a nose surgery: open or closed. Dr. Rifai will decide which technique is right for you. After Michigan cosmetic surgeon Dr. Rifai has reshaped your nose, nasal drains will be inserted to help with post-op drainage.
Nose Surgery- Overview
The day after your nose surgery, the nasal drains will be removed. A plastic splint will be applied to the bridge of your nose, to add support. This will be removed at your one-week post-op appointment. It is generally recommended that you return to normal activities one week after your surgery. Patients often report no discomfort, however bruising and swelling may occur and last up to 6 months.
Dr. Rifai’s can answer any questions you may have about a nose surgery during your scheduled consultation.
Frequently Asked Nose Surgery Questions
Q: When can I return to work or school?
Answer: There is very little discomfort associated with the surgery but there will be bruising and swelling of varying degrees. In addition, a nasal splint must be worn for 1 week. Therefore, we generally recommend at least one week off of school or work.
