IPL PhotoFacial
Use Light To Brighten Up Your Appearance
An Intense Pulsed Light PhotoFacial™ can help those suffering from sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture or rosacea.
During your initial consultation at the Birmingham Cosmetic Surgery & Vein Center, an aesthetician will work with you to identify the cause for your blemishes.
If they are the normal signs of aging, rosacea or sun damage, then an Intense Pulsed Light PhotoFacial™ (IPL) is the recommended treatment. The procedure doesn’t take long and requires no downtime.
Procedure Overview: IPL PhotoFacial
1. The area affected by sun-damage, age spots, skin texture or rosacea is cleansed and a cool gel is applied.
2. IPL is delivered accompanied by only a minor sensation of discomfort.
3. After treatment, the gel is removed, the area is cleansed and a sunblock is applied. For those with sensitive skin, a cool compress may be applied once the procedure is done.
Recovery Time: IPL PhotoFacial
Each treatment takes 45-90 minutes and you can resume your regular activities immediately.
For optimal results, a series of five Intense Pulsed Light PhotoFacials are recommended. Follow-ups may be needed one to two times a year to maintain desired results.
