Microdermabrasion
Smooth Over Your Rough Skin
If you have wrinkles, skin textures or color, microderm abrasion , which is also known as skin resurfacing, can help remedy that. The procedure removes the top layer of skin while stimulating the elastic tissue beneath the surface. This results in a healthier and firmer appearance.
When you come in for a consultation, one of our aestheticians will talk to you about your goals and whether or not this is the right procedure to achieve them.
For those clients, looking to correct crevices or folds we recommend a face lift or laser skin rejuvenation. However, our aesthetician will help you decide what will best meet your needs.
Procedure Overview: Microdermabrasion
1. The aesthetician streams tiny aluminum oxide crystals through a hand piece placed against the skin.
2. The crystals then exfoliate while a mild suction produced by the microdermabrasion machine removes skin debris and crystals.
3. Total treatment time should last 30-60 minutes.
Recovery Time: Microdermabrasion
You’ll notice immediate results. Although microdermabrasion is non-invasive, pain free and require no downtime, your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. Take extra care in applying sunscreen and moisturizing creams to control that. Our aestheticians can work with you to match a face cream to best meet your needs.
To get the best results from a microdermabrasion procedure, multiple treatments three weeks apart is ideal.
Frequently Asked Microdermabrasion Questions
Q: How long does a treatment last?
Answer: A typical Microdermabrasion lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.
Q: What type of results can I expect?
Answer: The results of microdermabrasion can be seen almost immediately. Just one microdermabrasion session can improve the skin’s color, tone, and health. After treatment, the face should have a fresh appearance and a smooth, soft texture. However, the microdermabrasion system is most effective when a patient receives multiple treatments at intervals of two to three weeks.
